Soft Moss Calendar Sync was designed to be HIPAA-compliant from the start. We don't store any PHI or PII. Patient appointments synced to your personal calendar do not have any identifying information.
How does it work?
You connect your accounts and select the calendars that you want to sync. Then you select the direction (one-way or two-way) for each pair of calendars, then we handle the rest.
Do you store my calendar data?
We store only what's needed to keep your calendars synced. Everything is encrypted, and nothing is shared or sold.
Will my event details be visible on other calendars?
For non-clinical users, you can choose whether event titles sync or just the timing. For clinicians, titles cannot be synced. Besides that, just the timing of the events is synced.
What calendar providers are supported?
We currently support Google Calendar, Outlook, and Cerbo. If you need support for Apple iCloud, Fastmail, or a different EMR, let us know! We're prioritizing based on demand.
Can I choose which calendars sync with which?
Yes. You have full control over direction and which calendars participate.
How often does syncing happen?
Syncing runs continuously. Most changes appear on the other calendar within a few minutes.
Does this replace my calendar?
No, Soft Moss Calendar Sync just syncs the availability between the calendars you already use.
How does this work with Calendly, Cal.com or other similar scheduling tools?
Once your availability is fully accurate on a single calendar, you only need to connect that calendar to the scheduling tool and then it will have all the correct availability.
Is this HIPAA-compliant?
Yes. Patient information stays inside your patient system. Synced events on your personal/work calendars contain no PHI or PII.
Can I try it for free?
Yes. It is currently free to use. We will start charging for the service in the future.
